Madison Hammond, a professional soccer player for the OL Reign of the National Women’s Soccer League, describes her decision to go pro and her journey to becoming the first indigenous and African American player in the league. Madison strives to represent her people, family and culture and is devoted to paving a path for women athletes who might follow in her footsteps. She shares steps to dismantle systemic racism and racial structures. Her passion for increasing soccer accessibility and decreasing the pay to play barrier are truly inspiring.
