This Wednesday is National Girls and Women in Sports Day—one of our favorite days of the year.
NGWSD is a reminder of how far we as women athletes have come in our journey. From kickball at the playground to Gold Medals on the World Stage, NGWSD is a chance to honor the VOICEs that push us forward.
It’s also a chance to reflect on how our VOICEs can contribute to building the women’s sports community, establishing equity, and uplifting those around us.
Change can start with one person, one athlete, one idea. “Advocacy” doesn’t have one definition—it has many. These VIS community members are showing us that being an advocate doesn’t mean that we have to follow a particular path. We can make our own.

Takeaway
Advocacy isn’t limited to social media. Even if that doesn’t mean starting a company like Loyd, we can get creative and use our strengths to contribute to our communities.
